UN Goals for Sustainable Development
In order improve and implement sustainability on a global scale, the UN has outlined 17 goals, as shown below. The first thought that may come to your mind is 'how can we as a civilisation actually ensure that these goals are reached?' This is the key question to ask! The UN knowledge platform provides information on the targets for each of the goals and the measurable indicators of success, together with partnerships that have been formed globally and nationally in order to help achieve the goals. The UN also provide annual updates on the progress towards each goal. All links to this information are provided in each of the sustainable development goals below.
Behind all of the goals lies reliable data, which, for most part, is provided by the World Bank. The indicator data collected covers every country in every aspect of the 3 pillars of sustainability, i.e. environmental, economic and social.
